This position triages patients and obtains patient history and vital signs. The RN assesses patients and acts independently to initiate immediate care in life-threatening situations. The RN provides care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients. Multiple procedures are performed utilizing both complex and simple nursing skills. The RN assists the physician with their procedures. Providing comfort, both physical and psychological, to patients, their families, and visitors is essential. The RN provides discharge and follow-up instructions to patients and families. The RN answers ambulance radios and, without assistance, gives appropriate orders for pre-hospital care. Working with multiple types of sophisticated equipment is required. The RN handles various types of patients in a frequently stressful environment. Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments and intervening appropriately. The RN participates in care planning for patients. Regular assessment of patients' needs and providing skilled nursing services is required. Processing physician orders accurately and in a timely manner is essential. Evaluating the effectiveness of treatment plans and making suggestions for improvements is necessary. The RN actively participates in updating treatment plans in collaboration with team members. Current information is utilized to enhance patient care.
