Job Title: ER Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 6 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required; will accept first-time traveler License: RN state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH required Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Experience with patient ratios of 4:1 - Preferred experience with community hospital Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population. The patient population includes neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The average daily census is around 30 patients with a total of 40 beds available. The nurse will manage a variety of diagnoses, which include respiratory, cardiac, and stroke cases. Less trauma is seen, but the nurse may handle motor vehicle accidents and fractures. The facility is also capable of managing psychiatric patients. The nurse will be part of a multidisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. All staff members are required to have CPI certification to handle behavioral health situations. The role includes the stabilization and transfer of patients needing major trauma care. The ability to float within the scope of practice is required. Candidates should be comfortable managing patient care across varying age groups and complexities. Holiday coverage and weekend shifts will be necessary, with a flexible schedule expected. The facility prides itself on maintaining a supportive and collaborative work environment for all staff.
