Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 36-hour work week with every other or every third weekend required; 1:3.5 nurse-to-patient ratio; float required; 36 hours of orientation provided
Highlights:
- Work in a high-acuity emergency department with 86 rooms, 115 beds, and a daily census of 210 patients
- Comprehensive patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- EPIC documentation system with Pyxis medication management
- Experience in Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility strongly preferred
- Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, interpretation services, and unit secretary
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates also welcomed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
- Active Ohio RN license or compact license (must be in hand at time of application)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
- Must be proficient in triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma care, psychiatric holds, and pediatric emergency care
- Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressors, and STEMI/stroke protocols
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
