Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Active state or compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - Previous travel experience required - Charting system experience preferred - Reference required within the last 12 months from a direct supervisor Description: This position involves providing care in the Emergency Department. The nurse may work with a variety of patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily patient ratios are expected to be 4 patients per nurse. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Required skills include blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, and management of violent behavior among others. This role also requires triaging patients and managing patients with psychiatric holds, suicidal tendencies, and drug overdoses. Experience with emergency medications and interpretation of dysrhythmias is preferred. The position requires flexibility in scheduling.
