Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty required License: Active Indiana or Compact License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - Previous travel experience required - Meditech experience preferred - Reference required within the last 12 months from direct supervisor Description: The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will work in a dynamic environment. The role involves caring for patients of various age groups, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Nurses will be responsible for managing patient care in a high-acuity setting and providing treatment during critical situations. Responsibilities include blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care, administering IV sedation, and managing drug overdoses. Nurses will also need to triage patients, apply isolation precautions, and manage psychiatric holds when necessary. Candidates must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and manage violent behavior. Experience in starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and applying splints is essential. The position requires flexibility as nurses may need to float to different locations. Weekend coverage is part of the schedule, with a commitment to provide high-quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
