Two years of experience in a hospital setting is required. Candidates must hold an active compact license. BLS certification is required. The unit has 18 beds and 10 hallways with a patient ratio of 5:1. Staffing is based on a variable model with unit secretaries and tech availability. Advanced skills in emergency care are required. Procedures performed on the unit include a variety of critical interventions. The dress code consists of scrubs. Staff in this unit are tenured and willing to grow and develop other nurses.
