Staffing includes three RNs on the day shift and three RNs on the night shift. Patient to nurse ratios are typically 1:4, depending on acuity. Equipment used includes Baxter pumps, Hamilton vents, GE cardiac monitors, and Stryker stretchers. The electronic medical record system is Meditech. Typical procedures performed in the unit include splinting, wound care, IV starts, medication administration, assessments, re-assessments, and documentation. Oversight of EMT-Ps is also a responsibility. The best personality fit is a compassionate caregiver with a non-abrasive demeanor. Every other weekend is required for scheduling. All staff must clock out for lunch breaks and communicate with the Charge Nurse when leaving the building.
