Key Responsibilities
Provide high-acuity emergency nursing care within a 68-bed unit that includes super track, psych, trauma, results pending, and hallway bed areas, as well as all private rooms.
Manage and administer complex drips including TNK, Cleviprex, and Level 1 infusion for MTP.
Deliver care across a Level 3 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Regional Cardiac Center, and Pediatric population.
Maintain expected nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5, subject to change based on staffing, census, and acuity.
Collaborate with a robust support team including PCT, First-Look RN, Triage RN, Charge RN, Secretary, RT, Lab, and Critical Response RN.
Candidates with SANE experience or comfort level accepting SANE patients are strongly encouraged to indicate this during the application process.
Required Qualifications
Valid New York State RN License (must have at least applied if still pending)
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room experience; travel nursing experience required
BLS required
ACLS required
TNCC or ATCN – must be in hand
NIH Stroke Scale certification required
PALS required
Proficiency in Epic EMR required
Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler; locals within 75 miles are accepted at a local rate
Availability to work either Christmas Eve/Day or New Year's Eve/Day as part of holiday scheduling requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
Pediatric emergency nursing experience
SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) experience or demonstrated comfort level with SANE patient care
Prior travel nursing experience in a high-acuity emergency department setting
