Description: The role is located in an emergency room setting. The average volume is approximately 180-200 patient visits per day. Patients may range from pediatrics to geriatrics. Trauma cases are received, with some traumas kept in-house and others referred to higher-level facilities. Certain specialties like burns are not treated on-site. The facility has a dedicated area for behavioral health patients, which includes a secure lockdown area. All travelers are expected to complete orientation within the first week. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Holiday shifts are also scheduled every other year. Nurses are responsible for their own lab draws and IV starts. Respiratory therapists are available 24/7 to manage ventilators. Pharmacy services are available on-site and 24/7. All staff must adhere to strict policies regarding attendance and cancellation. Scrubs must be Caribbean Blue. Charting is done using MEDITECH. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4.
