The organization is a referral center for trauma and comprehensive stroke care. It features a neonatal intensive care unit and a children’s hospital with a pediatric emergency room. The department is the busiest robotic surgery program in the region. The organization provides various advanced medical services. There are 101 beds in the Emergency Department. The typical patient ratio is 4:1, and it can increase to 7:1 for behavioral health holds. Technicians are available in the Emergency Department, working in cardiac monitoring and triage. Unit clerks are present during the day and night shifts. The documentation system used is Cerner. Scheduling requirements include weekends, and there is no commitment to block scheduling. There is no floating outside of the Emergency Department but staff must be open to floating to all sections within it.
