Job Summary
This role is for a dedicated Registered Nurse at a 24-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The facility serves a rural community, providing essential healthcare services to a diverse patient population.
The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients across medical-surgical and orthopedic specialties. This position offers an opportunity to work within a close-knit team environment, contributing significantly to patient outcomes in a critical access setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and pediatric patients on a medical-surgical unit.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and documenting observations.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and discharge instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Minimum of Not specified years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Clinical experience in Med-Surg Adult, Med-Surg Peds, and Med-Surg Ortho settings.
- Ability to adapt to a rural, critical access hospital environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Orthopedic nursing.
- Experience in Cardiac nursing.
- Experience in Pediatric nursing.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring.
- Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in medical-surgical nursing care for adult and pediatric populations.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic.
- Competency in telemetry monitoring.

- Schedule: Every weekend rotation
- Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
