Registered Nurse, Med-Surg Ortho
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment on a 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit specializing in Neuro/Ortho care. This position is located in Lawton, Oklahoma.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population with neurological and orthopedic conditions. The unit maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5, ensuring focused and quality patient care.
This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment, utilizing advanced clinical skills to manage complex patient cases and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients with neuro/ortho conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, interpret diagnostic data, and report changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and revise individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, medication management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in an acute care Med-Surg setting, with demonstrated experience in Neuro/Ortho specialties.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
