The unit has a total of 23 staff members. Staffing includes a mix of day, mid, and night shifts. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:4. Typical equipment includes splinting tools, defibrillators, ventilation equipment, bedside cardiac monitoring systems, and more. The electronic medical record system is Meditech Magic, transitioning to Meditech Expanse. Candidates must possess certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS. Preferred certifications include ENPC and NRP. Typical procedures performed in the unit include IV starts, blood draws, moderate sedation, and splinting. Ideal candidates should demonstrate teamwork and a focus on patient experience. Uniform requirements include royal blue scrubs and closed-toed shoes. No food and drinks are allowed at the nurse's station as per regulatory guidelines. Weekend scheduling is required as needed or every other weekend, based on preference.
