Position Overview:
The Emergency Room Nurse works in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients with different levels of trauma injuries. The nurse's job is to care for patients who urgently need treatment and stabilize their vitals, while limiting pain and discomfort. They may need to prep patients for transport to higher-level trauma facilities if needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough triage assessments to prioritize patient care effectively.
- Administer medications and treatments in alignment with physician directives.
- Continuously monitor patient conditions, promptly reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist in critical emergency procedures, including intubations and catheterizations.
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health management, and post-care strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
- ADN or BSN
- Registered Nurse License
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, & PALS issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- 1 year of ER Experience in the last 2 years
- Additional requirements based on facility
