Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a contract assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. This role is based in a dynamic 28-bed Emergency Department, which includes specialized areas such as 4 trauma bays, 2 behavioral health rooms, and 22 cardiac monitor rooms.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a high patient turnover rate, providing critical care to a diverse patient population. This position requires a commitment to excellence in emergency nursing and collaborative patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergent conditions.
- Manage and prioritize care for patients in trauma bays, behavioral health rooms, and cardiac monitoring areas.
- Perform rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient department flow.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding their condition, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with rapid patient turnover.
