Job Summary
Join our dynamic Emergency Room team as a Travel Registered Nurse in Hilo, Hawaii. This fast-paced, team-oriented environment is within a 28-bed department, equipped with 4 trauma bays, 2 dedicated behavioral health rooms, and 22 cardiac monitor rooms.
The role involves managing a high volume of patients with diverse needs, requiring quick assessment, intervention, and efficient patient turnover. You will provide critical care across various acuity levels, contributing to a collaborative and supportive healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with various medical and traumatic emergencies.
- Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments, prioritize care, and implement appropriate interventions.
- Manage patients in trauma bays, cardiac monitoring rooms, and behavioral health settings.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and operate medical equipment relevant to emergency care.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Room setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Procedural Sedation.
- Certification in Trauma Medical Care Course (TMCC).
- Certification in Emergency Medical Planning Course (EMPC).

Licensing Requirements
