It requires management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Responsibilities include performing IV therapy and phlebotomy, including central line care and management. Candidates should have experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors. The nurse will manage respiratory care for CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patients. Knowledge of isolation precautions and triage is essential. Interpretation of dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases is preferred. The position may require handling occasional OB patients and managing mother/baby until transfer. Weekend shifts are expected, with a minimum requirement of 8 shifts in a 6-week scheduling period. Regular floating between areas may be required.
