Description:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room.
The position will involve a night shift schedule.
Clinicians are required to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week rotation.
There is an expectation to float within designated zones during extreme needs.
The unit typically treats over 30 patients per day.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4.
Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain.
Experience with common drips such as cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia is essential.
The Emergency Room includes separate psych/seclusion rooms and is staffed with in-house security 24/7.
Phlebotomy may be performed by either the lab staff or registered nurses.
Record keeping is managed through the EPIC charting system.
A robust orientation to the unit is provided during the first week.
A cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled for a 13-week assignment.
This position requires vital skills and certifications for effective emergency care.
