Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification Must-Have: Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills Description: The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate, and timely care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced environment. The ED RN is responsible for rapid assessment, prioritization, intervention, and evaluation of patients presenting with a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions. This role requires strong critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Perform comprehensive and focused assessments of patients presenting with emergent, urgent, or non-urgent conditions. Triage patients using evidence-based triage protocols to determine acuity levels and initiate appropriate care. Provide rapid intervention and stabilization for patients experiencing medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with hospital policy and provider orders. Operate and monitor medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and point-of-care testing devices. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, EMS personnel, and other healthcare team members. Coordinate patient care, including diagnostic testing, re-evaluation, disposition planning, and patient education. Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record. Participate in rapid response, trauma activations, code blue, stroke, and STEMI protocols as required. Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety guidelines, and hospital standards. Support a culture of patient-centered care, empathy, and service excellence in a high-volume emergency department environment. Preferred qualifications include TNCC and ENPC certifications. Prior experience in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care, or high-acuity settings is also preferred. The working conditions involve a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with frequent exposure to trauma and critical illness. The position requires standing, walking, lifting, and performing physical tasks throughout the shift. Collaboration with a diverse healthcare team and EMS partners is essential.
