Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room/Emergency Department- Obtain and record initial patient assessment and establish priorities
- Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends
- Develop and implement an individualized plan of care within the Nursing Standards of Care
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify the plan of care based on evaluations
- Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning
- Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
- Evaluate the plan of care and perform Point of Care testing procedures
- Utilize effective communication strategies and delegate unit work assignments
- Participate in the orientation of new staff and maintain a positive work environment
- Exhibit behaviors that create a high level of patient/customer satisfaction
Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room/Emergency Department- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC Certifications required
- CPI or equivalent preferred
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served
