# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Virginia**Start Date:** September 21, 2026 **Location:** Salem, Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Rotating shifts with day and night coverage; four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) within each four-week scheduling periodHighlights:
- 27-bed Emergency Department with high acuity and fast-paced patient flow
- Patient ratios of 4-6:1 with strong team support including RNs and medics on every shift
- Comprehensive case mix including RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, psychiatric patient care, and EMTALA transfers
- EMR: Meditech
- No on-call requirements or floating to other units
- Scrub color: Navy blue or white
Requirements:
- Active Virginia RN license or compact state license with ability to obtain Virginia licensure
- Minimum 2-3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Must have completed 2-3 travel assignments
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Preferred certifications: ENPC, NRP, NIH
- Experience in high acuity, high-volume emergency departments strongly preferred
- Experience with patient ratios of 5:1 preferred
