Must-Have:
Traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival.
Experience with NGT tube insertion, IV starts, chest tube management, defibrillation, splinting, Stroke/NIHSS, and ICU medication management is essential.
Must be comfortable holding admitted patients in the Emergency Department and managing hall bed assignments.
Description:
This facility is an Acute Stroke Ready Client with a chest-pain accreditation and 325 licensed beds.
The Emergency Department includes 22 beds and a 7-bed fast track area.
The department serves a diverse patient population, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
Common patient types include those with cardiac issues, diabetes, renal failure, cancer, infectious diseases, CHF, and multiple system trauma.
Patient ratios are typically RN: 1:3-4 with support from 2 CNAs and ED technicians per shift.
There are two physicians and two mid-level providers on each shift to support the clinical staff.
The facility utilizes an EMR system for charting and various equipment such as Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis for medication dispensing.
Scheduling includes every other weekend rotation, with a mix of 4 or 3-day work weeks, including night shifts.
Holiday expectations include working 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Uniform requirements include scrub colors of pewter and T-shirts in gray, white, or black with an approved monogram.
Badges must be worn above the waist and in full view at all times.
