# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Virginia**Start Date:** September 7, 2026 **Location:** Salem, Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Day or Night shifts available; Four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) within each four-week scheduling period; No on-call requiredHighlights:
  • 27-bed Emergency Department with high acuity and fast-paced patient volume
  • Patient ratios of 4-6 patients per nurse
  • EMR system: Meditech
  • Typical procedures include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, psychiatric patient care, and interfacility transfers (EMTALA)
  • Collaborative team environment with 50 RN staff and 25 medics
  • No floating to other units required
Requirements:
  • Active RN license eligible for Virginia practice
  • Minimum 2-3 years Emergency Department experience
  • Must have completed 2-3 travel assignments
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
  • Preferred certifications: ENPC, NRP, NIH
  • Experience in high acuity, fast-paced emergency departments strongly preferred
  • Experience managing patient ratios of 5:1 preferred
