# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Virginia**Start Date:** September 7, 2026 **Location:** Salem, Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Day or Night shifts available; Four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) within each four-week scheduling period; No on-call requiredHighlights:
- 27-bed Emergency Department with high acuity and fast-paced patient volume
- Patient ratios of 4-6 patients per nurse
- EMR system: Meditech
- Typical procedures include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, psychiatric patient care, and interfacility transfers (EMTALA)
- Collaborative team environment with 50 RN staff and 25 medics
- No floating to other units required
Requirements:
- Active RN license eligible for Virginia practice
- Minimum 2-3 years Emergency Department experience
- Must have completed 2-3 travel assignments
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
- Preferred certifications: ENPC, NRP, NIH
- Experience in high acuity, fast-paced emergency departments strongly preferred
- Experience managing patient ratios of 5:1 preferred
