Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI Must-Have: Strong IV skills for adults and pediatrics Excellent communication skills Description: Unit has 22 beds with a vertical space area for additional patients. Approximately 50 staff members work on the unit. Day shift staffing consists of 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 nurses, 1 tech, and 1 medic. Night shift staffing consists of 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 nurses, 1 secretary, and 1 tech/medic. Patient ratios are 1:4. Typical equipment includes Phillips and GE Monitors and a Level 1 Rapid Infuser. Electronic Medical Record system is Meditech (EDM). Common procedures include cardioversion, central line placements, and management of cardiac arrests. Basic ER skills such as IV insertions and EKGs are required. Protocols include Code Stroke, Code Sepsis, and suturing/abscess setup. Ideal candidates are team players who are energetic, professional, and respectful to both patients and team members. Ability to hold oneself and others accountable is essential. Candidates should be patient-centered and possess excellent attendance. Adaptability to change is a key quality desired in applicants. Candidates with trauma experience and Meditech experience are preferred. Weekends are required every other weekend, including at least 1 Friday and 1 Monday in a 4-week schedule. No on-call duties are required.
