Description:
The unit has 22 beds with vertical space for additional patients.
There are approximately 50 staff members on the unit.
Day shift staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 nurses, 1 tech, and 1 medic.
Night shift staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 nurses, 1 secretary, and 1 tech/medic.
Patient ratios are set at 1:4.
The equipment used includes Phillips and GE Monitors and a Level 1 Rapid Infuser.
The Electronic Medical Record system utilized is Meditech (EDM).
Typical procedures performed on the unit include:
- Cardioversion
- Central line placements
- Management of cardiac arrests
- IV insertions and EKGs
- Pacemaker interrogation
- Code Stroke protocol
- Code Sepsis protocol
- Suture and abscess setup
The ideal candidate will be a team player who is energetic and professional.
Respect toward both patients and the team is essential.
Candidates must be able to hold themselves and others accountable.
A patient-centered focus is crucial.
Excellent attendance is required.
The ability to adapt quickly to change is necessary.
Floating may occur to a facility located approximately 15 minutes away.
Every other weekend is required, along with at least 1 Friday and 1 Monday in a 4-week schedule.
No on-call shifts are required.
