The team consists of approximately 80 staff members. Staff includes Charge Nurses, Flow Navigators, RNs, Paramedics, ED Technicians, and Unit Clerks. Patient ratios are acuity-based. The unit is equipped with Emergency/Trauma/Critical Care equipment. Typical procedures performed include moderate sedation, RSI, CPR, PIV/IO, splinting, EKG, blood transfusion, TNK administration, cardiac monitoring, stroke assessments, trauma assessments, resuscitation, and sepsis workups. The best personality fit is a self-motivated team player. Team collaboration is essential; all team members support each other. Shifts begin 15 minutes prior to designated times, and staff should be prepared to clock in, receive huddle, and assume patient care. Food and drink are not permitted in patient care areas, and personal bags must remain outside of these areas. A full 30-34 minute break is required for lunch each shift.
