Job Title: RN - Emergency Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Current RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: Contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. The position requires no on-call commitment. The unit comprises 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 Fast Track, and 5 behavioral health rooms. The unit is staffed by 111 personnel. Staff on day shift includes a charge nurse, additional mid-shift nurses, patient care technicians, a paramedic, and an LVN. Night shifts follow the same staffing pattern. Patient ratios are 1:4 in the emergency department, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 for cardiac/trauma patients. Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers. Preferred skills include Meditech experience and trauma experience. Inpatient experience and CPI certification are also beneficial. Typical procedures performed on the unit include splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central lines, airway support, and behavioral health de-escalation. Ideal candidates will be multitaskers, team players, and self-starters. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. All established policies and guidelines must be followed. The unit has an active committee promoting team engagement and recognition. New equipment and technology are utilized, providing an engaging work environment. Flexibility in scheduling options is available to accommodate staff needs.
