Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or PALS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role: Compassion, urgency, and teamwork are extremely important. Level II or Level III trauma experience is required. Description: The unit has 16 beds with 8 hall chairs. There are 6-7 staff members per shift. Day shift typically includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, and 4-5 nurses. Night shift typically includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, and 4-5 nurses. Staff may also include 1 ultrasound technician and 1-2 techs. Patient ratios are 1:4, with low acuity levels ESI 4 and 5, possibly taking 6 patients. Equipment includes cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and Tonopen devices. EMR system is Meditech, with vital signs flowing directly into the chart. Typical procedures performed include assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV insertions, urine collection, lab draws, and care for ESI levels 1 to 5. Dress code includes royal blue scrubs, with optional team jerseys on Sundays. Shift huddles at 7 AM and 7 PM are mandatory unless providing critical care. EMTALA training is mandatory for all staff. The unit has received recognition for patient satisfaction and employee engagement. There is a focus on timely care for patients with stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma. The facility is transitioning from a Level IV to a Level II trauma designation. This role offers opportunities to work with new equipment and technology.
