Description:
Unit operates a Level III Trauma and Primary Stroke Center with comprehensive capabilities.
The Emergency Room sees an average of 135 patients daily.
Nurse-to-patient ratios vary depending on acuity.
General acute care beds are staffed at a ratio of 1:3-4.
Level I traumas are 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity.
Vertical care is staffed at a ratio of 1:6-8.
Clinical staff may precept as needed by the unit.
Orientation consists of three shifts in the ER.
Fast Track available for triaged patients.
Security is present 24/7.
Care for mixed patient types including trauma, altered mental status, and pediatric patients.
Utilize common drips including Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitro, and sedation medications.
Respiratory therapists are available in the ER 24/7.
Transport services for X-Ray and CT available within the ER.
Patient care techs support nursing staff with various duties.
A free-floating charge nurse will assist and can take assignments if necessary.
Weekend and holiday rotations are required.
Floating to assist as needed may occur between locations.
Scrub color required is navy, with undershirts also in navy.

Cancellation policy enables the facility to cancel a limited number of shifts per assignment.
The charting system utilized is MEDITECH.
