Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; only candidates with 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience will be considered if a first-time traveler. License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Strong clinical decision-making and compassionate patient care skills Ability to provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process Experience in a fast-paced environment with trauma, stroke, and burn patients Description: As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. You will utilize evidence-based practice to ensure the safety of patients and create the best patient experience. The unit has a total of 55 horizontal beds, 6 vertical beds, 15 observation beds, and 5 behavioral health holding beds. The average patient census is between 200-220 per day. Patient types include trauma, stroke, STEMI, burns, and various emergency conditions. You will be expected to manage a patient ratio based on clinical area and acuity, typically ranging from 3:1 to 6:1 for RNs. You will be supported by ED Techs for vital signs, ADLs, and other support tasks, as well as a dedicated charge nurse and a resource nurse. Collaboration with critical care pharmacists, hospitalists, intensivists, and telemetry monitoring will be available 24/7. Equipment includes an EMR system, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and point-of-care ultrasound machines. As a skilled and compassionate RN, your contributions will be integral to creating a safe and effective environment for patient care.
