You will deliver safe and therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Your practice will be guided by evidence-based principles and clinical decision-making techniques. Compassion and effective communication are essential as you help create a safe patient environment and enhance patient experiences. You will work alongside a supportive team that includes ED Technicians, Unit Secretaries, Charge Nurses, and Critical Care Pharmacists. Collaboration with Paramedic Staff and hospitalists will be ongoing to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. The department handles a variety of patient types and common diagnoses, including trauma, cardiac events, and respiratory emergencies. Patient ratios will vary based on clinical area and acuity, generally 3:1 to 6:1 for registered nurses. You may float to the ED Transition Care Unit as needed. Unit-specific technology includes Electronic Medical Records, IV pumps, and monitoring equipment. Additional resources are available, including 24/7 respiratory therapy and intensives. The unit is currently undergoing renovations, aimed at improving facilities and increasing capacity for emergency care services.
