Description:
The Emergency Department is a Trauma Level III facility.
It is a teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center of Excellence.
Common patient types include trauma cases, strokes, heart failure, and respiratory illnesses.
The RN to patient ratio may be a maximum of 1:5, depending on the acuity of the patients.
Support staff includes Charge Nurses and a 24/7 Clientist.
Technology utilized includes an Electronic Medical Record system and IV Pumps.
RNs may be required to float to other facilities within the region as needed.
Weekend rotation is required every other weekend, with shifts from 7p-7a.
Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.
Requests for time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays.
Preferred skills include trauma experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Required skills include conscious sedation, critical care drips, and blood administration.
