Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI Must-Have: General ED skillset, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, vent management, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, ESI assessments. Description: The Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse. This position involves caring for both pediatric and adult patients. Common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled diabetes, and minor trauma. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4-5, based on acuity, with the support of CNA staff at a ratio of 1:10. If required, the nurse will float to other facilities based on regional needs. Floating may include moving to various facilities; the nurse will remain on the clock during travel time. The department uses an electronic medical record system, and familiarity with medical equipment is essential. Support within the department includes hospitalists and an ED physician team available 24/7. Travelers may expect to work weekends and 75% of holidays. Up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays, with potential adjustments to the contract duration if needed. Candidates with TNCC certification are preferred but not required.
