Job Title: Travel RN Emergency Room Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - 2 years of Emergency Room experience Description: This position is for a Travel RN in the Emergency Department. The shift will be from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The unit has a capacity of 39 beds. The patient-to-staff ratio is 1:4. Unit staffing includes one unit secretary and 2-3 technicians on the floor. The available equipment includes crash carts, level one devices, Alaris pumps, and bedside cardiac monitors. Documentation is done using the MediTech system. A four-week schedule will be posted two weeks prior to the start date. Three 12-hour shifts per week are preferred. In rare instances, floating to the ER hold unit may occur when at capacity, typically during summer months. Patient experience guidelines require 30-60 minutes of patient rounding and bedside shift reporting. Advanced skills are needed to assist in intubation and emergency life-saving procedures. Common procedures performed in this department include chest tube placements, moderate sedation, lumbar punctures, laceration repairs, and administration of blood products. Dress code requires black scrubs. Candidates should be multi-task oriented, focused on throughput, and exhibit teamwork.
