The unit has a total of 101 beds with typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients. For ED behavioral holds, the ratio can be up to 7:1. Technicians are available to work in the cardiac monitoring unit and the internal processing area. Triage and unit clerks are available during day and night shifts. Equipment used includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors. Documentation is managed through a designated system. Scheduling requirements include working every other weekend with no block scheduling commitment. Floating is limited to within the Emergency Department. Patient experience is prioritized with a focus on respectful behavior and keeping patients informed throughout their visit. Candidates should have experience in high-volume emergency departments.
