Description:
The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience as a Registered Nurse.
The unit has 12 beds and is staffed with 6-8 personnel.
During the day shift, there are 5-7 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11 a.m. - 11 p.m.), and 1 Unit Secretary (9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday to Friday).
During the night shift, there are 5-6 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11 a.m. - 11 p.m.), and 1 Unit Secretary (5 p.m. - 1 a.m. Monday to Friday).
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1.
The unit uses an Electronic Medical Record system.
The most recruited skill set includes travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters.
Preferred candidates should have strong experience in Neuro and Cardiac care.
The work environment is high energy and fast-paced.
Common procedures performed on the unit include STEMI treatment, Stroke/TPA administration, and Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI).
The preferred scrub color is royal blue, although this is not required.
Competitors' emblems are not acceptable attire.
Notable achievements for the unit include a 12-minute door-to-needle time for TPA and the fastest bed assignment time for patients in the region.
