Job Title: ER Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of Emergency Room experience required First-timers accepted with the required experience License: State-specific RN license or Compact license required prior to start Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience Description: The position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts during the night. Weekend and holiday availability is required. There is no on-call requirement. Travelers may be required to float between campuses based on census and staffing needs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is generally 4:1. The Emergency Room handles a variety of patient diagnoses, including DKA, stroke, URI, kidney stones, and dislocations. Special procedures performed in the unit include chest tubes, procedural sedation, and intubation. Experience with high-acuity patients and critical situations is essential. The facility has an interdisciplinary support team, including IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and documentation. The nurse will be responsible for managing various patient care tasks, including arterial line management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients. The facility operates with a daily patient visit average of 110. All candidates must be flexible and ready to adapt to changing patient needs. Travelers should be aware of hurricane season, which may require assignment to emergency response teams. Candidates must ensure they can complete all compliance requirements in a timely manner.
