They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care. The clinical environment is administered by Nurse Managers and leaders. Support is provided through a Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is guided by a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses in Emergency Services are licensed and knowledgeable. They uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the applicable Professional Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards established by the Nursing Association. As a member of the patient services team, individuals uphold the voice of the patient and support service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: The RN performs the Nursing Process in clinical care using evidence-based practice. They utilize analytical and critical thinking to ensure that care is individualized. Care is coordinated through effective partnerships with patients and their significant others. Relationship-based patient-centered care is provided, consistent with population-specific characteristics. Patients' goals are the focus of the plan of care. Current clinical practice standards are utilized. Teamwork and Collaboration: The RN coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care. Diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods are employed. Timely documentation is maintained. Teamwork and collaboration are demonstrated by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner. Participation in performance improvement initiatives is supported. Professional Development and Initiative: Ongoing professional competency assessment and required mandatory education are completed. The RN serves as a preceptor and mentor for other healthcare team members. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promoting evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing is essential. The RN participates in data collection and uses evidence to address practice questions. Resources and Support: Care for patients across the care continuum is proactively planned. Protocols and procedures are developed in collaboration with care managers and team members. Efficient use of human and material resources is supported. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Compliance with all policies, standards of work, and code of conduct is expected. Required Minimum Education: Associates in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing is required. Bachelor's in Nursing is preferred. Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
