They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. Support is provided through a shared governance model and a framework for practice based on evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and aligned with core values. All RN Clinical Nurses in Emergency Services must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. Implementation of the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics set by a recognized professional association is expected. As part of the patient services team, individuals must uphold the voice of the patient, system policies, and service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Perform the Nursing Process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Care is delivered using evidence-based practice and critical thinking while ensuring individualized care and effective partnerships. Provide relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics. Partner with patients and significant others, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity. Ensure the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model. Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by promoting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participate in performance improvement initiatives with all stakeholders to support safe, quality patient care. Complete ongoing professional competency assessments and required education. Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff to ensure a qualified workforce. Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement activities. Comply with all organizational policies and clinical competencies while upholding legal and regulatory standards. Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice. Plan proactively for the care of patients across their care continuum. Support the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and team members. Contribute to the efficient and effective use of human and material resources. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all organizational policies, standards of work, and codes of conduct.
