Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Corpus Christi, Texas

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with day and night options available. Day shift includes charge nurse, triage nurse, 4-5 bedside nurses (including mid-shift), ultrasound tech, and 1-2 technicians. Night shift similarly staffed. Mandatory shift huddles at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

Highlights:

  • 16-bed Emergency Department with 8 hall chairs serving low acuity patients (ESI 4 and 5)
  • Patient ratio of 1:4, may extend to 1:6 for low-acuity cases
  • Full range of emergency care from ESI 5 through ESI 1, including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma patients
  • EMR: Meditech with automated vital signs integration
  • Facility actively transitioning from Level IV to Level II trauma designation
  • Collaborative team environment with strong focus on patient satisfaction and employee engagement

Requirements:

  • Active Texas RN license or compact state license
  • Level II or Level III trauma experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC or TNCC required
  • Minimum two years of emergency department experience strongly preferred
  • CEN, TCRN, or CPI certification preferred
  • EMTALA training (will be provided if not current)
  • Strong commitment to compassion, urgency, and teamwork

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Patient assessments and documentation in Meditech EMR
  • Medication administration and IV therapy
  • Wound care and splinting procedures
  • Lab draws and specimen collection
  • Cardiac monitoring using Baxter IV pumps, tonopen, and other emergency equipment
  • Triage and rapid response for time-sensitive conditions including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma
