Registered Nurse - Pre-Surgery Assessment
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 16-week contract assignment in a fast-paced Pre-Surgery Assessment Clinic located in Sandy Springs, Georgia. This role is crucial for ensuring patients are thoroughly prepared for their surgical procedures, focusing on comprehensive health evaluations and patient education.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed pre-operative assessments, taking medical histories, and performing essential clinical tasks such as IV insertions. This position requires a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and collaborate with the surgical team to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-surgical assessments, including medical history review and physical evaluation.
- Perform venipuncture and initiate intravenous (IV) access for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on pre-operative instructions, surgical procedures, and post-operative expectations.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and in compliance with facility standards.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Identify and address potential patient risks or concerns prior to surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a relevant clinical setting (e.g., Pre-Surgery Assessment, Med-Surg).
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically within a Pre-Surgery Assessment or Ambulatory Surgery setting.
- Strong background as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse with demonstrated advanced IV skills.

Shift Details
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
- Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts within the 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM operational window.
- Days per Week: 5.
- Weekends: No weekend shifts required.
- Call Requirements: Not specified.
- Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) as scheduled.
- Contract Length: 16 weeks.
- Assignment Dates: September 21, 2026 - January 9, 2027.
Licensing Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
