Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Mother Baby Registered Nurse for a travel assignment at Gwinnett Women's Pavilion, a dedicated maternity unit located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This role is crucial for providing exceptional care to postpartum mothers and their newborns in a supportive and dynamic environment.
The Mother Baby RN will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care, including maternal postpartum recovery, newborn assessment and care, and extensive patient education. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for new families during their hospital stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers, including assessment, pain management, wound care, and monitoring for complications.
- Perform comprehensive newborn assessments, vital sign monitoring, and provide care for healthy infants.
- Educate new parents on newborn care, feeding (breastfeeding and bottle-feeding support), safety, and maternal recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to facility policies.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records (EHR) documentation.
- Respond to emergent situations with calm and effective interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in a Mother Baby or Postpartum specialty.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Shift Details
- Shift Type: Nights (NOC)
- Shift Duration: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

- Assignment Dates: October 19, 2026 - December 12, 2026
- Call Requirements: Not specified.
- Weekend Rotations: Schedule varies and may include weekend shifts.
- Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) if they fall within the assignment period.
Licensing Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or a compact state license.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
