There are a total of 40 staff members on the unit. The staffing includes a charge nurse, RNs, and patient care technicians. Patient ratios are typically 1:4, but can be 1:6 in the fast track area for low acuity patients. The department is equipped with vital machines, portable EKG machines, glucometers, transport monitors, and rapid transfusion equipment. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. Typical procedures performed in the unit include triage, medication administration, and splinting. The ideal candidate will be a team player, friendly, and possess a can-do attitude. Candidates with ultrasound-guided IV experience will be prioritized. Weekend availability may be required. There is no on-call requirement.
