Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Services Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS Description: Backfill contract opportunity for an RN in the Emergency Department. This position offers 36 guaranteed hours per week. Candidates must have the required certifications. No call requirements for this position. The unit has a total of 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track spaces, and 5 behavioral health treatment areas. There are 111 staff members, including charge nurses and patient care technicians. Patient ratios are 1:4 for the emergency department, 1:5 for behavioral health, and 1:3 for cardiac/trauma patients. Required equipment includes Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers. The electronic medical record system used is MEDITECH. Permanent positions are available in the unit. Skill sets most recruited for include travel RNs and local CNAs and sitters. Candidates without the required skills will not be considered. Preferred qualifications include Meditech experience and trauma experience. Typical procedures performed on the unit include splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central line placements, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, and resuscitation. Ideal candidates should be multitaskers, team players, and self-starters. Dress code specifies navy blue scrubs for RNs. All established policies and guidelines of the facility must be followed.
