The unit has 22 beds and a staff of 55. The hiring profile emphasizes the need for candidates to have recent experience in a high-acuity setting. Patient ratios are maintained at 4:1. The Electronic Medical Record system is Meditech. Typical procedures performed include IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, and wound care. Moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion, as well as assisting with intubation, CPR, and code response, are part of the role. Nurses will care for stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients. Transport preparation and coordination for higher levels of care is required. Triage assessment and prioritization will be based on ESI guidelines. Adherence to isolation and infection control protocols is essential. Documentation and reassessment must occur in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented with a strong work ethic and accountability. Punctuality, reliability, and compassion, along with excellent patient-centered care, are vital traits. Candidates should be flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Two weekends per schedule are needed, but no on-call shifts are required.
