Job Title: Contract RN - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Dept Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12:00 - 00:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Proficiency in triage and emergency assessment Medication administration Management of critical patients Description: This position is for a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. The unit features 9 beds and consists of 17 total staff members. During the day shift, there are 2 nurses, including 1 charge nurse. The night shift also has 2 nurses, including 1 charge nurse. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1. The unit utilizes EMR software, specifically Meditech. Candidates should possess strong critical thinking skills. The ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment is essential. The candidate should be team-oriented, adaptable, and calm under pressure. Good communication skills are a must. A fun and positive attitude is encouraged. Experience in trauma and stroke care, as well as moderate sedation, is preferred. Typical procedures performed include triage, medication administration, IV insertion, EKG, cardiac monitoring, and trauma stabilization. This role requires working rotating weekends and no call is required.
