Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards, based on patient and family needs. Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand the knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes the initiative to begin appropriate solutions. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Performs hemodynamic monitoring, identifies potential life-threatening arrhythmias, and implements appropriate clinical treatment. Collaborates with patients and families to answer questions and provide emotional support when needed. Coordinates safe care delivery through effective communication with a multi-disciplinary team. Recognizes and adapts to potential changes in procedures while responding to emergent situations. Participates in a collaborative environment while working as part of a cohesive staff team, comprised of RNs and Radiology Technologists. Administers medications necessary for procedures. Manages care of patients during moderate sedation. Monitors hemodynamics throughout procedures. Provides outline documentation of procedure events. Understands the use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures. Participates in programmed electrical stimulation directed by the physician.
