Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Education Manager for a local/travel contract opportunity in New York, NY. This position will support nursing education and clinical practice.
The ideal candidate must have strong nursing education and leadership experience, with a background in Critical Care, Med-Surg, or Stepdown nursing. MSN is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support nursing practice using relationship-centered care principles.
- Provide education, training, mentorship, and preceptorship to nursing staff and students.
- Promote lifelong learning, evidence-based practice, clinical excellence, and professional development.
- Serve as a professional role model and clinical leader.
- Assess and validate staff competencies and provide meaningful feedback.
- Support implementation of hourly care checks and patient-experience initiatives.
- Collaborate with Nurse Managers, Assistant Nurse Managers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Address patient-care concerns and support service recovery when needed.
- Develop, implement, and manage nursing education programs and budgets.
- Maintain and evaluate educational records and reporting systems.
- Participate in nursing research, pilot programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct meetings and educational activities related to assigned units.
- Ensure education and care practices are appropriate for different patient age groups.
- Promote a safe environment and maintain high standards of clinical practice.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) – Required
- Active New York State RN License
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Strong nursing education and leadership/management experience
- Critical Care, Med-Surg, or Stepdown experience required
- Demonstrated experience in nursing education and/or administration
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Additional Requirements
- Must be flexible to work either 4×10 or 5×8 schedule
- MSN is required
- Professional board certification in clinical specialty preferred
- ONS Chemotherapy Administration Certification required if assigned to Oncology
