Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The successful candidate will work primarily with admitted patients in a fast-paced environment, providing critical care in a Level I trauma setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Administer medications, including IV medications, following the seven rights of medication administration.
• Document and communicate clinical findings accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in emergency care.
• Manage patient flow and assist with admitted patients in the Emergency Department holding area.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet facility needs, including possible floating to Adult PCUs or ED Holding.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; a pending license may be accepted at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with Level I Trauma experience preferred.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC is required; TNCC must be completed prior to submission.
• COVID vaccination is optional, but reporting of vaccine status is necessary.
• Strong preference for candidates with travel experience; however, those with 2+ years of Level 1 experience may be considered.

Work Schedule

The Emergency Department positions require a commitment to work two out of three holiday bundles, including:

• Thanksgiving and the day after
• Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

Shifts available: Night shifts for 3x12 hours.

Additional Information

• Floating to Pediatric ED is optional, while floating to Adult PCUs is expected based on staffing needs.
• Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as required.
• Guaranteed hours as per contracted agreement; facility may call off shifts up to three times within a 13-week assignment.
• Open to accommodating block scheduling. Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted.
• Compliance with documentation requirements is necessary before the start date.
