Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Overland Park, Kansas. This position involves providing acute care in a level 2 trauma center within a busy emergency department. The role requires skilled trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis management, with the ability to perform all procedures associated with a level 2 trauma setting. The assignment begins in September 2026 and concludes in late October 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week.

  • Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license; 2+ years of experience as an emergency/trauma nurse; certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) preferred.
  • Additional Information: Experience with trauma care, STEMI response, stroke, sepsis, and triage procedures is required. The role involves use of advanced monitors and equipment such as Level 1 fluid warmers, GE monitor systems, Artic Sun, Lifepak defibrillators, and Alaris infusion pumps. Documentation is completed using Meditech system. The unit emphasizes positive patient experience through use of AIDET and whiteboards, fostering a can-do culture.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Submission Requirements: Current Kansas RN license, certifications, and relevant experience must be submitted as part of the application packet.
